These are a more expensive option as compared to the compost bins; however they are worth the extra cash spent on them. They are ideal for users who do not have a lot of time.
They do not require the users to manually turn the compost.
The tumbler can be easily rotated with the help of a crank or by simply spinning it. This aerates the compost deposited inside.The tumblers however, are not without any problems; they can also get somewhat messy. This is especially true, when they are to be rolled around the yard, when the compost is not ready.
Also, some of their models require you to purchase a separate compost tea collector. This can add to the over all costs.
All things said and done, the compost bins and tumblers have their own share of problems but they are an important part of the home composting process.
